Job summary

CalTek Staffing is seeking a Quality Supervisor (Aerospace / AS9100) in Torrance, CA. Lead QA/QC inspectors, prepare for AS9100 audits, and ensure compliance with a robust quality management system.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. You will mentor staff, analyze inspection data, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining current documentation in ERP/QMS tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in aerospace, electronics, precision manufacturing, or quality engineering.
• Experience leading AS9100 audits.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Clear communication with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop QA/QC inspectors and set quality expectations.
• Lead AS9100 audits preparation and support QMS compliance.
• Review inspection results, NCRs, and CAPA for effective closure.
• Coordinate containment and corrective actions with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing.
• Manage RMAs and supplier quality issues with supporting documentation.
• Maintain and improve nonconformance, RCCA, and action procedures.
• Keep ERP/QMS documents current and accessible.
• Analyze defects and trends to improve yield and reduce issues.
• Support customer audits and supplier quality initiatives.

Base Salary: $86,320–$125,840 annually

About the Opportunity

Our client, a manufacturer of precision electronic components and systems, is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead its QA/QC inspection team and support an AS9100-compliant quality management system. This role combines hands‑on quality leadership, audit preparation, and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to resolve quality issues, strengthen inspection processes, and ensure customer and supplier requirements are met.

What You'll Do

• Supervise, mentor, and develop QA/QC inspectors, providing clear guidance on quality requirements and inspection practices.
• Lead preparation for AS9100 audits and support ongoing quality management system compliance.
• Review inspection results, nonconformance reports, and corrective actions to confirm issues are addressed effectively.
• Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to investigate quality problems, coordinate containment, and prevent recurrence.
• Manage customer and supplier quality issues, including return material authorizations (RMAs), supporting documentation, and corrective action responses.
• Maintain and improve procedures for nonconformance control, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
• Keep quality procedures, records, and documentation current within ERP and QMS tools.
• Analyze inspection failures and quality trends to identify opportunities to improve yield and reduce defects.
• Support customer audits, supplier quality requirements, and other quality or compliance initiatives.

What You'll Bring

• At least three years of experience in aerospace, electronics, precision manufacturing, or quality engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading AS9100 audits.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with engineering, production, and leadership teams.
• A proactive approach to identifying problems and driving them to resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
• Experience supervising or leading quality inspectors, technicians, or other quality personnel.
• Experience in RF, microwave, aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.
• AS9100 internal or lead auditor training.
• Experience with root cause corrective action (RCCA), corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and nonconformance management.
• Experience supporting customer audits and resolving customer or supplier quality issues.
• Familiarity with ERP/QMS platforms, preferably NetSuite, and quality data tracking.
• A record of using quality data to improve yield and reduce recurring defects.
