Our client is seeking a dedicated Quality Control (QC) Analyst to join their team on a 6-month onsite contract in Aurora, OH. This role is ideal for candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology and 1–3 years of laboratory experience. Responsibilities include performing chemistry and microbiological testing, operating lab instruments, and supporting environmental monitoring in a GMP-regulated environment. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your scientific expertise in a fast-paced, quality-focused setting.
Position Summary:
The Quality Control Analyst is responsible for performing testing of raw materials, in-process formulations, and finished products within a Quality Control laboratory environment. The role requires strong technical skills in chemistry and microbiology, with a focus on analytical testing to ensure compliance with established specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine and non-routine chemistry and microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process formulations, and finished products.
- Operate laboratory instruments and equipment such as pH meters, conductivity meters, UV spectrophotometers, Karl Fischer titrators (KF), FTIR, and perform titrations in accordance with standard procedures.
- Interpret and follow testing procedures from compendial methods (USP, EP, BP, JP, ACS) and EXCIPACT standards.
- Analyze and calculate test results, ensuring they meet required specifications; document findings and generate reports.
- Review laboratory data, including water testing, environmental monitoring, and direct measure analysis.
- Perform calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Enter test results and raw data into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Support investigations, customer complaints, and troubleshooting by performing investigative analysis as needed.
- Carry out Environmental Monitoring duties, which include gowning into cleanroom environments and collecting air and surface samples.
- Apply disposition labels to materials (e.g., accepted, rejected) based on test results.
- Handle hazardous materials safely, following PPE and safety protocols.
- Complete and review documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct testing for USP Purified Water and Water for Injection.
- Author, review, and update laboratory procedures and work instructions.
- Perform aseptic microbiological testing including Bioburden, Endotoxin, DNase, RNase, Protease, and Phosphatase.
- Prepare and dispose of microbial media in accordance with safety and procedural standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline such as Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology.
- 1–3 years of relevant laboratory experience.
- Experience with wet chemistry and microbiological testing (e.g., acid/base titrations, water content, bioburden, endotoxin) preferred.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation and testing procedures.
- Strong understanding of laboratory practices, data integrity, and GMP/GDP compliance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a regulated laboratory setting.
