Adecco Portugal is seeking a Metal Inspector in Wayne County, NY to verify machined, formed, and assembled metal components meet customer, military, and industry specifications. The role requires experience in metal inspection, machine shop environments, and reading mechanical drawings.
You will perform first article, in-process, and final inspections, inspect welds, verify conformance to MIL-SPEC standards, use CMM and precision tools, maintain QMS records, and support continuous improvement
Are you an experienced Metal Inspector with a strong background in machining, fabrication, or manufacturing? We are looking for a detail-oriented Metal Inspector to ensure machined, fabricated, and assembled metal components meet customer, military, and industry specifications.

Perform First Article, in-process, and final inspections of fabricated sheet metal and machined components.
Inspect welded components through visual weld inspection.
Inspect purchased materials to verify conformance to requirements.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Verify components meet applicable customer, military, and industry standards.
Record inspection results accurately in accordance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
Identify and help resolve production and quality issues.
Perform calibration and verification of hand measurement devices.
Utilize precision inspection equipment, including:
Verniers
Micrometers
Thread gages
Height gages
Optical comparators
Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM)
Apply knowledge of GD&T, statistics, sampling, gauging methods, and process control.
Utilize Virtek Scanner technology as required.
Support quality audits and maintain accurate inspection documentation.
Count, lift, move, and handle materials as part of daily inspection activities.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Experience in machine shop, metal inspection, manufacturing, or assembly.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of GD&T and dimensional inspection principles.
Understanding of statistical methods, sampling, gauging, and process control.
Experience with precision measurement tools and inspection equipment.
Virtek Scanner experience preferred.
Experience in a defense manufacturing environment preferred.
Familiarity with MIL-SPEC and MIL-STD requirements preferred.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team.
Ability to lift and move materials as needed.
Experience working with military specifications, MIL-SPEC, MIL-STD, and defense-related quality requirements is highly valued for this position.
