Job summary

Sauer Structural LLC in Oak Hill, FL, is seeking a Quality Control Manager for our shop-based fabrication facility with field work at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. You will lead the QA/QC program, supervise quality personnel, and ensure compliance across fabrication sites.

You will coordinate inspections, maintain welding procedures, manage nonconformances, and drive continuous improvement while partnering with operations, engineering, purchasing, and auditors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of quality experience in structural steel fabrication, including at least two years in a leadership role.
• Experience implementing QA/QC programs, procedures, inspection plans, and quality records.
• Working knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding, inspection practices, material traceability, and codes like AWS D1.1/D1.2/D1.6/D17.1 and AISC 360.
• Knowledge of welding procedure and welder qualification requirements and NDT methods.
• Experience managing nonconformances, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and audits.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings, specs, codes, and contract requirements.
• Strong leadership, planning, decision-making, and verbal/written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Outlook/Word/Excel; able to learn cloud-based file sharing and Adobe/Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quality department and set priorities for shop and field activities.
• Develop, implement, and improve the QA/QC program and related documents.
• Direct inspections and ensure proper documentation; manage ITPs and third-party testing.
• Maintain welding procedures, PQRs, and welder qualifications; track continuity.
• Maintain calibration for measuring and testing equipment.
• Ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, NASA/Space Force requirements.
• Manage nonconformance reporting, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Oversee quality records and supplier quality issues.
• Coordinate audits and serve as primary quality contact with customers.
