Job summary

Sauer Structural LLC in Oak Hill, Florida, seeks a Quality Control Manager to lead the QA/QC program for structural steel fabrication. Based at the Oak Hill facility, with field work at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, you will supervise quality personnel and ensure compliance across shop and project sites.

You will coordinate inspections, NDT, welding controls, and audits, driving continuous improvement and risk reduction while collaborating with operations,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of quality experience in structural steel fabrication, including at least two years leading quality personnel or overseeing a quality function.
• Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining QA/QC programs, procedures, inspection plans, and quality records.
• Working knowledge of structural steel fabrication, welding inspection practices, material traceability, and applicable codes and standards such as AWS D1.1, D1.2, D1.6, D17.1, and AISC 360.
• Working knowledge of welding procedure and welder qualification requirements and common nondestructive testing methods.
• Experience managing nonconformances, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and internal or external audits.
• Ability to read and interpret structural steel drawings, specifications, codes, and contract requirements.
• Strong leadership, planning, decision‑making, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, with the ability to learn cloud‑based file‑sharing systems and Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Lead the quality department; establish priorities; assign work; coach and develop quality personnel; ensure coverage for shop and field activities.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the company’s QA/QC program, procedures, inspection plans, and document-control practices.
• Direct and verify the effectiveness of layout, fit-up, weld, material, and final inspections; coordinate third‑party nondestructive testing (UT, MT, PT, RT).
• Maintain welding procedure specifications (WPSs) and welder qualification records; track welder continuity and testing.
• Maintain calibration and control program for measuring, inspection, and test equipment.
• Plan and support internal, customer, AISC certification, and third‑party audits; act as the primary quality contact.
