Job summary

HHICorporation seeks a Quality Control Manager to oversee construction QC activities and ensure adherence to contract documents and safety regulations on federal projects. You will lead three-phase control meetings, coordinate with government agencies, and manage documentation and submittals.

The role requires a strong background in federal construction, safety training, and experience with RMS/QCS systems, with a focus on accountability and collaboration to deliver high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • 10 years of construction experience, including 2+ years as Primary Quality Control Manager on federal projects.
  • Experience on federal projects (USACE, NAVFAC, VA, or similar).
  • Project valued at $8M+ completed.
  • Projects >10,000 sq ft.
  • OSHA30 Construction Safety Training with EM385-1-1 knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of RMS/QCS and government electronic reporting systems.
  • Proficiency in Word and Excel.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and enforce plans and submittals.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including government correspondence.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and Procore.
  • Must meet government security clearance and pass drug screen.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform field inspections.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine site walks and inspections to identify and correct deficient work.
  • Enforce approved safety plans and OSHA/EM385-1-1 compliance.
  • Coordinate and conduct project safety and quality training.
  • Lead mishap investigations and complete required reporting.
  • Prepare and submit quality control documentation and logs.
  • Review and track submittals for government submissions.
  • Develop and manage the Project Quality Control Plan (QCP).
  • Lead Three-Phase Control Meetings (Preparatory, Initial, Follow-Up).
  • Coordinate with third-party labs, inspectors, and commissioning agents.
  • Maintain logs of inspections, testing, and verifications.
  • Mentor junior QC staff and inspectors.

MainDutiesandResponsibilities
    • Performroutinesitewalksandinspectionstoidentify,document,andcorrectdeficientornon-conformingwork.

    • Record,track,andmaintainlogsofallinspections,testing,andqualityverificationactivitiesperformedonsite.
    • Review,coordinate,andtracksubmittals,ensuringcompliancepriortoGovernmentsubmission.
    • Coordinatewiththird-partytestinglaboratories,inspectors,andcommissioningagentsasrequiredbythecontract.
    • Trackdeficiencies,issuecorrectiveactionrequests,andverifycompletionofcorrectivework.
    • Participateinpreparatorymeetings,pre-installationmeetings,andGovernmentcoordinationmeetings.
    • Assistwithprojectcloseoutactivities,includingpunchlists,as-builtdocumentation,warranties,andO&Mmanuals.
KeyWorkingRelationships

MustbeabletoworkprofessionallyandeffectivelywithGovernmentrepresentatives,inspectors,andnon-governmentpersonnel.TheQualityControlManagermustcoordinatewithmultipletradesanddisciplinestoensurequalitycompliancewithoutimpedingconstructionprogress.Clear,conciseverbalandwrittencommunicationwithOwners,ProjectManagers,Superintendents,andCorporateSafetyisrequired.

MinimumQualifications
    • Bachelor’sdegreeinEngineeringorConstructionManagement
