Job summary

Lifecycle Construction Services is seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee on-site construction engineering activities and implement QC systems for federal government projects.

You will manage multiple projects across states, review procedures, prepare daily QC reports, and ensure all work complies with plans, specs, and DoD requirements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in QC, a related bachelor's degree, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Procore, MS Project, Excel, and Word.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years QC experience, DoD experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in CM or engineering is a plus.
• Knowledge of OSHA 30 and EM 385-1-1 preferred.

Quality Control Manager

Summary of Position

The Quality Control (QC) Manager is directly responsible for the execution of on-site construction engineering activities and the implementation of required quality control systems for federal government projects. The QC is the key personnel in determining acceptance or rejection of all work in progress and completed work activities. Must be able to oversee the quality of construction projects and ensuring all work meets the standard of contractual obligations. In charge of verifying all materials received for the project meet project and company needs. Prepare quality control reports on a daily basis and submit them to a contracting officer, as well as prepare weekly and monthly reports as required by their company. Being able to manage multiple projects at the same time,, across states, inspecting construction sites, and identifying issues or inaccuracies are some other tasks while maintaining quality service and support. Key focus is on delivering and executing work in a positive, professional manor. Customer satisfaction is the measure of our success.

Position Responsibilities

• Responsible for implementing and maintaining the Quality Control Program to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the plans, specifications and the approved Quality Control Plan.
• Establish quality procedures, standards, and specifications
• Review all QC issues with Operations at all stages of construction
• Review close out processes to confirm all quality issues have been inspected and resolved
• Facilitate establishment of a project specific quality control plan with the project team
• Monitors contract documents for discrepancies as the work is installed and notifies appropriate persons of conflicts
• Facilitate subcontractor pre-work meetings with support from the project team
• Coordinate with project team to schedule timely testing and certification of all building systems prior to turn over of the project to the Owner.
• In conjunction with Project Manager, aggressively manage project schedule to ensure all project deadlines are achieved.
• Perform daily quality control inspections of all work in progress to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
• Conduct surveys to identify customer requirements and ensure they are being met by established quality standards
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendor all material submittals requiring approval from either the Designer and/or Owner. Review and approval all submittals for contract compliance and submit tothe approving authority.
• Prepare and submit detailed Daily Quality Control Reports.
• Coordinate all testing requirements for materials, factory tests and manufactures' certifications.
• Maintain accurate records of all quality control operations, activities, testing and inspections performed on site.
• Maintain accurate As-Built drawings on a weekly basis.

Experience and/or Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years or more Quality Control experience required with Government quality control experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or equivalent combination of training and experience is a plus
• Knowledge of acceptable construction site practices including occupational safety and health regulations
• Experience in DoD project protocols.
• Ability to communicate both orally and writing with internal and external clients and co-workers
• Have a thorough and working knowledge of plans and specifications or project scope of work and Quality Control requirements
• Must be able to obtain and maintain base access
• CPR/First Aid (Preferred)
• US Air Force construction quality management (Preferred)
• OSHA 30 (Preferred)
• Familiar with the requirements of EM 385-1-1, and have experience in the areas of hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
• Understands the sequencing of work.
• Must have a proven track record of meeting production, quality and customer service standards in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and Word, aptitude/willingness to learn other management software programs, including Procore.

Other Requirements

Physical ability to oversee project activities as related to the position, including travel to project sites. Understands federal DOD government contracting requirements; strong work ethic and leadership capabilities; commitment to excellence for safety, schedules, quality and procurement.
