Job Summary
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality control plan for construction projects and ensuring each project meets the rigorous standards of excellence upheld by the company.
The QCM reports directly to a project site five days a week, typically residing within proximity of the project location or surrounding areas. Housing allowance is provided for relocation when required. Projects usually range from 1‑3 years in length, with opportunities to work at various U.S. locations over time.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the construction phase of the project quality control plan, including all three phases of quality control, in compliance with Federal, DoD, and Navy requirements.
- Direct and approve correction of any non‑conforming or unsafe construction work performed under the contract.
- Monitor and approve the quality of materials, plans, surveys, fabrication, as‑built drawings, and other construction‑related work to ensure compliance with specifications, workmanship standards, and contract requirements.
- Review project plans for quality requirements.
- Plan and organize quality processes such as work planning, pre‑activity meetings, material management, incident reports, and corrective actions.
- Direct inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Have working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Maintain relationships with owners, clients, and subcontractors.
- Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
- Ensure timely and safe completion of projects in accordance with safety goals, while adhering to contract documents and project budgets.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years’ experience with a federal general contracting company.
- CQCM certified and has administered the three phases of quality control on multiple projects.
- A thorough understanding of construction materials, means and methods, and building systems.
- Experience in federal sector projects.
- Experience in healthcare projects.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam.
- Ability to write and comprehend RFIs.
- Ability to clearly communicate to home office, owner, and subcontractors.
- Availability to work on any shift—first, second, or third—since hospital construction occurs at all hours.
- Experience in Davis‑Bacon prevailing wage‑required projects.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
- OSHA 30 Certified.
- Experience managing projects $20MM+.
