Job Summary
The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for implementing and maintaining the quality control plan and is responsible for the overall quality control for the project. The QCM will ensure each construction project meets the standards of excellence at Richard Group.
The individual holding this position reports to a project site five days a week. It is expected that the individual lives within proximity of the project location or the surrounding areas. Richard Group offers a housing allowance to cover the cost of living if relocation is required. Our projects typically range from 1 – 3 years in length.

Responsibilities
- The Quality Control Manager (QCM) is responsible for developing and implementing the construction sections of the project quality control plan (including the three phases of quality control) in compliance with Federal, DoD, and Navy requirements.
- Directing and approving the correction of any non-conforming or unsafe construction work performed under the contract.
- Monitoring and approving the quality of materials, plans, surveys, fabrication, as-built drawings, and other construction-related work to ensure compliance with specifications, workmanship standards, and contract requirements.
- Reviewing project plans for quality requirements.
- Planning and organizing quality processes such as work planning, pre-activity meetings, material management, incident reports, and corrective actions.
- Directing inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Having working knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
- Maintaining relationships with owners, clients, and subcontractors.
- Maintaining appropriate documentation throughout the project including change order logs, RFI logs, and submittal logs.
- Ensuring timely and safe completion of projects in accordance with safety goals, while adhering to contract documents and project budgets.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with a federal general contracting company
- CQCM certified and has administered the three phases of quality control on multiple projects
- Thorough understanding of construction materials, means, methods, and building systems
- Experience in federal sector projects
- Experience in healthcare projects
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Bluebeam
- Ability to write and comprehend RFIs
- Strong communication with home office, Owners, and Subcontractors
- Availability to work on any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) as hospital construction occurs at all hours
- Experience in Davis-Bacon Prevailing wage-required projects
- Ability to pass a background investigation and a drug test

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
- Experience with the Department of Veterans Affairs
- OSHA 30 Certification
- Experience managing projects $20MM+
