Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Quality Control Lead to oversee the implementation of the Quality Control Plan across multiple projects and shop sites. You will coordinate testing, inspections, and reporting with the Project Commissioning Lead, Shop Managers, and the project team to continually improve quality throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) Certification is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Quality Control for Electrical Work is Preferred
  • May be required to work between multiple sites.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee inspections for jurisdictional, contract compliance and 3rd party requirements.
  • Document management of inspection drawings and tests leading up to final inspection; coordinate jurisdictional visits with trade superintendents.
  • Maintain certifications and continuity logs; verify work is performed according to procedures.
  • Review contract drawings and identify areas to align install scope with CD's; verify RFIs and submittals cover differences.
  • Document fabrications per Work Packages and identify deficiencies via NCR; ensure corrections prior to shipment.
  • Verify equipment and systems installed comply with install details, manufacturer drawings and QA/QC standards; prepare corrective items list.

Job description

Position Summary

The Quality Control (QC) Lead is responsible for overseeing the overall implementation of the Quality Control Plan and coordinates all project testing, inspections, and reporting matters directly with the Project Commissioning Lead, Shop Managers & Project Team. Continuously improves the quality of the program through the full project life cycle on multiple projects or shop sites.

Position Details
  • Manage and document inspections forjurisdictional, contractcomplianceand 3rd party requirements. document management of inspection set of drawings and individual tests leading up to final inspection coordinate jurisdictional visits with trade superintendents,includerequired andappropriate documentationin programs (such as Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)) for testing documentation.
  • Maintain certifications for qualified individuals and continuity logsverifywork being donein accordance withqualified procedures and individuals.
  • Ensure that all materials and construction arein accordance withthe requirements forthe completeness,accuracyand constructabilityin accordance withapplicable building codes and project specifications.
  • Participate in progress and QC meetings.Review contract drawings andidentifyareas/scopes where items need addressed to confirm install scopeis in alignmentwithCD's.Verify RFI's and/or submittalscoverany differences.
  • Document fabricationsin accordance withWork Package's.Identifydeficiencies in either quality or accuracy, document deficiencies viaNCRand have corrected prior to shipment to site.Provide summary visit information and documentation to communicate with team status ofWP's.
  • Verify equipment and systems installed comply with appropriate install details, requirements manufacture and/or contract drawings, completeness and quality.Developlistof items that needcorrectedwith Trade Superintendents and/or Shop Managers.Track and oversee items onlistto completion.Involved in L2 process and documentation for equipment receiving and set in place (ready for energization).Work through resolution of owner punch items relating to install scope quality with Trade Superintendents, Shop Managers, and other team members.

Pay: Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. For Washington, this ranges from $92,000.00-$125,000.00 yearly plus annual incentive, benefits, and retirement program as outlined above.
