Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a Quality Assurance/Quality Control professional to ensure HVAC materials and installation meet project and regulatory standards. You will conduct site inspections, review drawings, and verify procedures for conformance to safety and government requirements.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• 5 years of progressive quality control experience or relevant experience.
• Knowledge of construction processes and OSHA regulations.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor quality standards for installation of materials and products in Mechanical HVAC systems to ensure they are integrated in projects and the fabrication processes.
• Performs job walks and inspections at construction sites and/or fabrication facilities to ensure compliance with government regulations, OSHA and company safety requirements and contractual specifications.
• Documents and communicates inspection results. Identifies and recommends solutions for non-compliant situations. Follows through to ensure compliance and conformance.
• Maintains various procedural documents, including continuity logs and code books. Reviews procedures for compliance. Clarify procedural issues and conduct training as needed.
• Partners with superintendents to maintain resource licenses, including expiration and renewal date.
• Reviews project equipment specifications and documents. Secures specialty permits. Informs management of potential problems.
• Reviews project requirements for Quality Assurance/Quality Control and help project teams identify roles, responsibilities and expectations before the project begins.

Position Summary

Responsible for ensuring product quality specifications and processes are in compliance with regulatory, company and customer standards and requirements.

Position Details

• Monitors quality standards for installation of materials and products for Mechanical HVAC systems to ensure they are integrated in projects and the fabrication processes. Reviews shop fabrications for drawing conformance, verifies installation of products and materials and confirms that procedures are being followed and are code compliant.
• Performs job walks and inspections at construction sites and/or fabrication facilities to ensure compliance with government regulations, OSHA and company safety requirements and contractual specifications. Consults with crews for proper testing procedures, verifies testing and inspection reports.
• Documents and communicates inspection results.Identifies and recommends solutions for non-compliant situations. Follows through to ensure compliance and conformance.
• Maintains various procedural documents, including continuity logs and code books.Reviews procedures for compliance. Clarify procedural issues and conduct training as needed.
• Partners with superintendents to maintain resource licenses, including expiration and renewal date.

Qualifications

• Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems
• Proficient in MS Office
• Organizational and planning skills
