Job summary

Döhler GmbH is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician to perform chemical, physical and microbiological analyses of beverage components and blends, ensuring quality and food safety. The role includes calibration, sensory testing, line inspections, and batch documentation.

You will work closely with production to maintain a clean, safe, and compliant lab, with responsibilities spanning sampling, testing, data entry in SAP, and contributing to continuous improvement in QA processes.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in science-related field.
• 2+ years? experience in laboratory environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in science-related field preferred.
• Food and beverage experience a plus.
• SAP knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Verify that lab equipment is calibrated daily or weekly as required and document results.
• Conduct physical and chemical analyses (e.g., brix, moisture, acidity, pH) on beverages, syrups, flavors, and raw materials.
• Perform sensory analysis on bulks and finished products during shifts.
• Conduct quality inspections on filling lines, including temperature, torque, weight, and packaging checks.
• Verify cleaning and sanitation effectiveness via pre/post-operational inspections and ATP swabbing.
• Make batch adjustments when products are out of specification (e.g., add acid/base).
• Put products on hold if quality/food-safety specs are not met and communicate with stakeholders.
• Maintain and clean the laboratory; restock supplies and keep records updated.
• Support investigations into customer complaints as needed.
• Collect and forward customer production samples per requests; collect samples for third-party testing.
• Adhere to HACCP, food safety, quality standards and safety policies.
• Collaborate with production personnel to ensure smooth operations and safe, organized work environment.
• Enter and maintain data in ERP (SAP) system and maintain batch records.
