Base pay range

$18.00/hr - $22.00/hr

The QC Lab Technician conducts physical and instrumental tests on leather materials to ensure compliance with Perrone Leather, LLC, customer specifications and internal quality standards. This role supports production by identifying issues with the manufacturing or supplier process and documenting results for continuous improvement in leather finishing operations. This position is a fast-paced, quickly changing environment while completing various tests and maintaining an exceptional record-keeping

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine physical tests on leather (e.g., tensile strength, adhesion, abrasion, flexibility).
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
  • Record and report inspection data accurately and promptly in the QC system.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the lab environment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of product line.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of test equipment and test procedures.
  • Files and maintains test results.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by the QA Manager.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality lab, ideally in textiles, leather, or coatings.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data recording.
  • Satisfactory company work records, including attendance.
  • Ability to read and interpret product specifications and laboratory testing methods.
  • Ability to complete technical and QA reports.
  • Ongoing training in all current and proposed QA specifications and procedures related to the product.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, QC software).
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and work on feet for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 environments.
