Job summary

G&W Electric Co. is seeking a Quality Control Inspector I for the 3rd shift (10:00pm–6:30am) to inspect components and finished products for conformance using visual inspection and basic measuring tools.

You'll train production personnel, perform internal process audits, report findings, manage non-conforming processes, communicate with Engineering, and participate in customer inspections as needed, contributing to a safe, accurate manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must read and interpret drawings, schematics, BOMs, wiring and ladder diagrams.
• Basic MS Word/Excel; ERP experience desirable.
• Skilled with calipers, micrometers, and a Fluke multimeter.
• Experience using small hand and power tools.
• High School diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to understand and follow English instructions.
• Ideal: 1–3 years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform final inspection on switches and parts prior to shipment.
• Train production personnel in process-control methods.
• Conduct internal process audits and report findings.
• Shut down non-conforming processes after notifying Supervisor.
• Communicate drawing discrepancies to Engineering.
• Participate in customer inspections as needed.
• Assist in preparing NCRs and implementing corrective actions.
• Contribute to CII drafts for audits and improvements.
