  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Verify parts meet required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
  • Identify non-conforming materials or products and communicate issues to production.
  • Inspect reworked parts to verify corrections have been completed properly.
  • Complete inspection records, quality reports, and other required documentation.
  • Assist with the investigation of recurring defects and production quality issues.
  • Work with production employees to identify causes of defects and improve product quality.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Inspector to support a manufacturing operation. This position is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure they meet required drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The ideal candidate has previous quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment and is comfortable reading blueprints, using precision measuring equipment, documenting inspection results, and working directly with production when quality issues are identified.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming materials, fabricated components, and finished products for quality and dimensional accuracy.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, tape measures, and other measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Verify parts meet required dimensions, tolerances, and quality standards.
  • Identify non-conforming materials or products and communicate issues to production.
  • Inspect reworked parts to verify corrections have been completed properly.
  • Complete inspection records, quality reports, and other required documentation.

Essential Skills
  • Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Understanding of dimensions, tolerances, and basic manufacturing quality standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify defects or inconsistencies.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with production employees and supervisors.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.78 - $27.58/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
