Job summary

Komline-Sanderson, Peapack, NJ is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform incoming, in‑process, and final inspections on capital equipment. You will read mechanical drawings, weld symbols, and GD&T to ensure compliance with customer specifications and ISO/quality standards.

Travel to customer sites (~30%) and collaboration with manufacturing, engineering, and purchasing are required. The role emphasizes hands‑on manufacturing experience, welding inspection, and adherence to AWS/ASME

Qualifications

• 7+ years of QA/QC experience in a capital equipment manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing
• Experience with large complex capital equipment
• Experience with welding inspection
• Minimum 30% travel to customer sites
• Hands-on manufacturing experience, particularly in welding or machine shop
• CWI certification (preferred)
• Knowledgeable in welding, NDT, AWS/ASME codes (preferred)
• Experience with welding inspection/CWI certification (preferred)
• Certified or experience in ISO 9001 auditing (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings and weld symbols to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on materials, components, and finished equipment.
• Use precision measurement equipment to verify dimensions.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality to address nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure traceability and proper labeling throughout manufacturing.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce defects and improve processes.
• Verify compliance with AWS/ASME codes and approved weld procedures.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality or related field

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for performing incoming, in‑process, and final inspections to ensure materials, components, and finished equipment meet engineering drawings, customer specifications, and company quality standards. This role supports the manufacturing of engineered‑to‑order capital equipment in compliance with ISO 9001, ASME Section VIII, and other applicable industry codes and standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, GD&T, and Bills of Material
• Generate and process Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) for nonconforming materials and products, ensuring proper documentation and disposition
• Use precision measurement and test equipment to make accurate measurements
• Respond quickly to production and engineering requests for inspection
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality personnel to investigate quality issues and support corrective actions
• Efficient communicator who is comfortable working with email and ERP systems for documentation of inspections
• Inspect welded assemblies for compliance with AWS and ASME code requirements, approved weld procedures, and engineering specifications
• Perform dimensional inspections of machined and fabricated components
• Perform electric control panel inspections for proper operations
• Verify proper identification, labeling, and traceability of materials and components throughout the manufacturing process
• Participate and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineer, Quality or related field
