Job summary

Komline‑Sanderson is seeking a Quality Control Inspector to perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections ensuring materials and finished equipment meet drawings and customer specifications. The role supports capital equipment manufacturing under ISO 9001 and ASME Section VIII standards.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, generating NCRs, and using precision measurement tools. Travel to customer sites is expected up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality or related field.
• 7+ years of QA/QC experience in a capital equipment manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with large complex capital equipment.
• Experience with welding inspection.
• Travel to customer sites up to 30%.
• Hands-on manufacturing experience, particularly in welding or machine shop.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, fabrication drawings, weld symbols, GD&T, and Bills of Material.
• Generate and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for nonconforming materials and products, ensuring proper documentation and disposition.
• Use manual precision measurement and test equipment to make accurate measurements.
• Respond quickly to production and engineering requests for inspection.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality personnel to investigate quality issues and support corrective actions.
• Efficient communicator who is comfortable working with email and ERP systems for documentation of inspections.
• Inspect welded assemblies for compliance with AWS and ASME code requirements, approved weld procedures, and engineering specifications.
• Perform dimensional inspections of machined and fabricated components.
• Perform electric control panel inspections for proper operations.
• Verify proper identification, labeling, and traceability of materials and components throughout the manufacturing process.
• Participate and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve manufacturing processes.
