Job summary

Komline is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to support mechanical quality assurance, Visual Factory, and vendor quality management at our Rockford, IL facility. The role involves creating process sheets, verifying drawings against built products, and performing factory testing with hands-on floor time.

Level I requires a mechanical engineering degree and 1–3 years in manufacturing; Level II adds SolidWorks, welding, and welding certifications. AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar degree (Level I).
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (Level I).
• D365, ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, QA experience, purchase commodity inspection, fabrication inspection (Level I).
• AutoCAD experience (plus) (Level I).
• All Level II requirements: SolidWorks flat layout experience, welding experience/certifications, Weld Inspection Certification.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings; inspect and verify built product; document changes.

Responsibilities

• Create process sheets for manufacturing and assign raw materials to items and process sheets.
• Review and compare original mechanical drawings to the built product; document changes.
• Complete Factory Assurance Testing procedures and document results.
• Inspect purchased commodity items.
• Approximately 50% on the production floor.
• For Level II, develop flat patterns for sheet metal and plate; review drawings for fabrication release.

Responsibilities:

Level I

• Create process sheets for manufacturing and assign raw materials to manufacturing items and process sheets.
• Review and compare original mechanical engineering drawings and specifications to the built product, documenting built changes through defined processes/procedures.
• Complete Factory Assurance Testing procedures and document results through defined process and procedures.
• Purchased commodity item inspection.
• 50% of the time on the production floor.
• Review engineering drawings and develop flat patterns for custom designed engineered equipment fabricated from sheet metal and plate. (level II).
• Review mechanical engineering drawings for accuracy prior to release for fabrications utilizing AutoCAD

Level II

• 25% of the time on the production floor.
• Review engineering drawings and develop flat patterns for custom designed engineered equipment fabricated from sheet metal and plate.
• Review mechanical engineering drawings for accuracy prior to release for fabrications utilizing AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
