Job summary

AWT Labels & Packaging in Garner, NC is seeking a Quality Control (QC) / Finisher to inspect RFID label products and prepare them for shipment, ensuring all customer specifications and quality standards are met. The role focuses on visual and RFID testing, with hands-on operation of finishing equipment.

You will review specifications, document inspections, and collaborate with supervisors and production personnel to maintain on-time delivery and quality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect RFID labels throughout the production process to verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Perform visual inspections for print quality, die-cut accuracy, registration, variable data accuracy, and label appearance.
• Verify RFID inlays and encoded data function properly using testing equipment and software.
• Review production paperwork, work orders, and customer specifications to ensure requirements are met.
• Identify, document, and communicate quality issues to supervisors and production personnel.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
• Support corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Operate rewinding, slitting, fanfolding, and other finishing equipment.

The schedule for this position is Wednesday-Thursday-Friday. Hours are - 5pm-5am.

Additional days and hours may be necessary due to production requirements.

Required Job Duties

The Quality Control (QC) / Finisher is responsible for inspecting, finishing, and preparing RFID label products for shipment while ensuring all customer specifications and quality standards are met.

This position plays a critical role in maintaining product quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery by performing visual inspections, testing RFID functionality, and operating finishing equipment.

• Inspect RFID labels throughout the production process to verify compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
• Perform visual inspections for print quality, die-cut accuracy, registration, variable data accuracy, and label appearance.
• Verify RFID inlays and encoded data function properly using testing equipment and software.
• Review production paperwork, work orders, and customer specifications to ensure requirements are met.
• Identify, document, and communicate quality issues to supervisors and production personnel.
• Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
• Support corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Operate rewinding, slitting, fanfolding, and other finishing equipment.
• Inspect finished rolls for defects such as missing labels, poor print quality, damaged cores, improper winding, or RFID failures.
• Package finished products according to customer requirements and company procedures.
• Label, box, and prepare orders for shipment.
• Maintain production counts and complete required production documentation.
• Assist with machine setup and material handling as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Meet production schedules and quality expectations.
• Work closely with operators, supervisors, and customer service teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Cross-train on multiple production and finishing processes as required
