Job summary

Performance Foodservice in Oakwood, GA, is seeking a warehouse associate responsible for checking produce quality and taking daily inventory. You will remove spoiled or short-dated items, repack cases as needed, and support inventory control to maintain fresh, sellable product.

Responsibilities include collaborating with Receiving, assisting customers and vendors, and ensuring proper product rotation and dating standards on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; 6–12 months procurement, warehouse or administrative experience in related area.

• Interact with customers and vendors in a friendly, timely, and professional manner; respond to questions accurately.
• Determine quality of products returned by customers; collaborate with Returns Clerk on returns quality.
• Check quality of produce daily to ensure proper rotation and remove substandard product.
• Break down full cases into smaller lots to reduce spoilage and inventory losses.
• Check dating on designated products daily; remove short-dated or bad product from inventory.
• Keep inventory counts current.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsible for checking quality of designated product and taking daily inventory on produce. Removes spoiled product that is short-dated from inventory and repacking full cases into smaller quantities. Responsible for quality check of all produce pick locations. Pulls for dump or salvage any produce with decay or otherwise not meeting shipping requirements. Reports any dumps or salvage to Inventory Control. Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform assigned duties efficiently to reduce spoilage and contribute positively to profit margin; working closely with the cooler Receiving Department on perishable items.
• Communicate and interact with customers (and company personnel) and vendors in a friendly, timely and quality manner; ensure customers' and vendors' questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
• Determine quality of products returned by customers; work with Returns Clerk on returned produce quality.
• Check quality of produce and ensure: poor quality product is removed before a customer can purchase; proper rotation and quality of product on a daily basis.
• Break / repack full cases to small cases.in the most timely and efficient manner as to reduce spoilage and lost inventory.
• Check for dating issue on designated products on a daily basis. Remove any short dated and bad product from inventory.
• Keep inventory counts current.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience

6-12 months Procurement, warehouse and / or administrative experience in related area
