Job summary

Axalta seeks a Quality Manager for its High Point, NC facility. You will lead the site QC function, maintain the QMS, and drive continuous quality improvement.

As a core member of the Site Leadership Team, you’ll back up the Production Manager when needed and champion cross-functional quality initiatives across manufacturing. Candidates should have 6+ years in manufacturing with 3+ in supervision, 2+ years leading QC teams, and a Green/Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, plus solid ISO 9001 and SAP QM

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering or related discipline.
• 6+ years in manufacturing with 3+ years in production supervision/management.
• 2+ years leading quality or QC teams, preferably in coatings/chemicals.
• Active Green/Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001, audits, CAPA, and SPC.
• Hands-on experience with SAP QM or comparable ERP/LIMS systems.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily QC lab operations to ensure final products meet standards.
• Maintains and updates ISO 9001 QMS documentation and SOPs.
• Owns CAPA, NCRs, deviations, and audit readiness.
• Oversees lab equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Prepares KPI reports on RFT, HPB, complaints and CAPA aging.
• Leads Lean Six Sigma / DMAIC projects to improve quality and reduce scrap.
• Collaborates with Technology for formulation and test method challenges.
• Provides backup for Production Manager during absences and leads daily meetings.
