Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer at its High Point, NC facility. You will lead quality improvement projects, drive root-cause analyses, and collaborate with Production, R&D and Supply Chain to ensure Right First Time results and compliant processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering or chemistry, 2+ years in manufacturing QA, and strong experience with ISO 9001, 8D/CAPA, FMEA, and SPC. Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• 2+ years of quality assurance experience in manufacturing; coatings, chemicals or process industries preferred.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001; IATF 16949 a plus.
• Proficiency in 8D, CAPA, FMEA and 5-Why problem solving.
• Strong skills in SPC and statistical analysis.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
• Strong communication, project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Right First Time (RFT) improvement projects to increase batch meets specifications without adjustment.
• Drive hits-per-batch reduction by analyzing batch data and eliminating root causes of corrections.
• Lead internal defect reduction projects, including root cause analysis and CAPA.
• Manage disposition of non-conforming material (hold, rework, release).
• Apply SPC and process capability analysis to monitor and improve processes.
• Train and coach operators on quality standards and procedures.
