Job summary

Smurfit WestRock in Evadale, TX, seeks a Manager I, Quality to lead root-cause investigations, drive corrective actions, and communicate findings to customers and internal teams. You will partner with the Evadale Mill and Smurfit WestRock's TS&Q and CQC groups to improve paperboard quality and reduce field complaints.

The role requires strong statistical and analytical skills, field service experience, and the ability to train and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline strongly preferred.
• 5+ years field service experience in pulp and paper or related industries.
• Strong statistical, analytical and diagnostic problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication across levels.
• Experience with paperboard quality characteristics and converting operations.

Responsibilities

• Investigate customer complaints to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Generate technical responses for customers and internal teams (TS&Q, CQC).
• Partner with mill personnel to implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide technical assistance including audits, training, and on-site support.
• Generate and analyze quality data and complaint statistics.
• Communicate product quality and COA information to customers.
