Job summary

Pridgeon and Clay, a leading automotive components manufacturer in Grand Rapids, seeks a Quality Resource to support the Quality Manager in systems for quality per company policies. The role emphasizes containment, auditing, and TPS-based continuous improvement.

You will manage containment, drive quality goals (PPAP, FTQ, COQ), and lead audits across departments. Strong teamwork, organization, and communication are essential, with a focus on attendance and flexibility.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in Quality Science, Pre-Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience in a quality environment and manufacturing with knowledge of quality documentation.
• Experience with hiring process, performance appraisals, and disciplinary processes.
• Ability to learn and master quality tools including blueprints/drawings, PPAP, APQP, capability and validation processes.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Strong self-motivation with ability to manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work well in a team-based setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organization and detail-oriented project-management skills.
• Flexible schedule and excellent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Containment: Manage containment and sorting activities and personnel; set containment rates.
• Quality Systems: Oversee receiving inspection, certify dock-to-stock system, audit processes; track goals (PPAP, COQ, FTQ, PPM).
• Process improvement: Use problem-solving methods to drive permanent corrective actions; lead 8D or 5 Why teams.
• Personnel/Workforce: Schedule and approve team schedules; train and develop staff; conduct annual performance appraisals.
• Professionalism: Communicate effectively, maintain attendance, organize workspace, adhere to policies (ISO, TS16949, safety).
• Leadership: Support HR in hiring/terminations and drive departmental standards and performance.
