Job summary

Pridgeon and Clay Inc. in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a quality resource to assist the Quality Manager with company quality systems and procedures. You will help implement ISO/TS16949 compliant processes and oversee containment, audits, and documentation.

You will drive continuous improvement through PPAP/APQP, manage audits, and lead a small team, coordinating with HR for training and performance reviews. Strong communication and organization are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree preferred.
• Experience in a quality environment/manufacturing with quality docs.
• Experience with hiring, performance appraisals, and disciplinary processes.
• Ability to learn/ mastery of PPAP, APQP, capability and validation tools.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook/Word/Excel).
• Strong self-motivation to manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work well in a team setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and detail-oriented project management.
• Flexible schedule willingness.
• Excellent attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Containment Control: manage containment/sorting activities and personnel.
• Quality Systems: oversee receiving inspection, document control, and dock-to-stock system.
• Quality Systems: manage quality audits and auditors.
• Quality Systems: achieve goals like PPAP, COQ, FTQ, PPM, and control plans.
• Quality Systems: conduct weekly audits for conformance.
• Use problem solving methods to drive permanent corrective actions and 8D/5 Why analyses.
• Personnel/Workforce Management: schedule and approve team schedules daily.
• Personnel/Workforce Management: drive efficiency and cost reductions.
• On-the-job training coordination with HR; document training.
• Develop and implement departmental standards.
• Performance appraisal and development plans for direct reports.
• Assess team strengths/challenges to meet goals and wellbeing.
• Provide feedback and address performance; enforce discipline per handbook.
• Collaborate with HR on hiring/terminations as needed.
• Professionalism: communicate to enhance teamwork and information flow.
• Provide timely feedback to coworkers and management.
• Maintain attendance and organize work area.
• Adhere to ISO/TS16949 and safety regulations; uphold company values.
