Job summary

Alfa Laval in Indianapolis is seeking a claims quality specialist to investigate root causes, implement corrective actions and resolve customer and supplier claims for the Americas Distribution Center. This onsite role requires coordinating investigations, issuing RMAs, and ensuring thorough documentation in the ACT system.

You'll work with multiple units, produce monthly status reports, and drive continuous improvement through ALPS initiatives and training for sales and service centers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and SharePoint.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving and collaboration abilities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate root causes and implement corrective actions for claims at the AMDC.
  • Coordinate investigations, assign tasks and ensure timely completion.
  • Issue call tags and return material authorizations for returned goods.
  • Document actions in the ACT claim system and close completed claims.
  • Interact with multiple departments to resolve claims beyond AMDC scope.
  • Identify trends and lead problem resolution projects where appropriate.
  • Provide monthly claims status reports and contribute to KPI tracking.
  • Provide training on claims processes to sales and service teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to ALPS.

About the job

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role within the Americas Distribution Center’s Quality team. You will have the opportunity investigate root causes, implement corrective actions, and execute remedial actions and resolve customer and supplier claims, contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization. Currently this is an onsite position located in Indianapolis, IN.

As a part of the team, you will:

  • Coordinate efforts at the America’s Distribution Center (AMDC) to investigate root cause, implement corrective actions, execute remedial actions and resolve customer and supplier claims in a timely and effective manner
  • Conduct preliminary investigation of all claims being coordinated by the AMDC
  • Assign investigations to the appropriate units and follow up to ensure timely completion
  • Issue call tags to return goods to the AMDC from the customer when needed
  • Inspect returned goods to determine if credit can be issued to the client
  • Issue Returned Material Authorizations (RMA) to credit the customer for returned goods and execute stock adjustments as needed
  • Ensure key actions and decisions regarding the claim are thoroughly documented in the ACT claim system and determine when claims are complete and can be closed
  • Reassign claims to the appropriate party and interact with other Distribution Centers, Sales Companies, Business Units, Product Management, and Technical Support when claims are outside of the AMDC responsibility
  • Identify trends occuring within AMDC claims and lead Problem Resolution Projects (PRP) when appropriate
  • Document all new claims on the Quality Status Board and keep the cards updated to improve communication
  • Provide monthly reports on claim status from ACT, Claims Recording tools and KPI measurements.
  • Provide training to PDL, US Sales Company, and US Service Centers Claims Process to ensure compliance with the Alfa Laval claims guidance
  • Support ALPS related activities and lead continuous improvement projects
What you know
