Job summary

The Quality Trainee will assure consistent quality of production by enforcing quality and manufacturing standards at Milo’s Tea Company. This overnight shift runs from 5:30pm to 6:00am, with some weekend work required.

Applicants should have an Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent; Bachelor’s in Biology, Food Science, or Chemistry is preferred, or three years related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Food Science, or Chemistry preferred; or three years related experience.
• Proficiency with Internet software including Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Ensure products are produced per Milo’s quality standards.
• Obtain samples for testing and daily quality checks.
• Monitor GMP or SQF compliance and Food Safety/Quality requirements.
• Maintain laboratory and testing equipment and perform calibrations.
• Assist with receipt of raw ingredients and sample testing.
• Perform routine testing of weights, volumes, colors, brix, codes and packaging integrity.
• Collect samples for shipment if needed.
• Work overtime and weekends as required.
• Support corporate responsibility and sustainability initiatives.
