Quality Assurance Technician (Part Time)

Position Summary
Quality Technicians are responsible for monitoring and measuring of product throughout the production process. This position will be responsible for quality control and quality assurance in the laboratory and the plant floor.

Primary Responsibilities

• Quality Control
  • Samples are taken from the production line, label room for testing.
  • PVS testing is performed for each batch.
  • Documentation recording of daily quality control of product and process.
  • Testing for pH, viscosity, brix, and other tests required by the QA manager.
  • Other duties as assigned by Quality Assurance Manager, Plant Management.
• HACCP
  • Inspection of production lines and departments as needed for QC.
  • Carry out tests based on quality and critical control points in HACCP.
  • Work with other departments to ensure clear communication for corrective actions, non-conformances, and root causes.
  • Notify manager of problems on the plant floor, quality of products, and food safety.
• Quality Assurance
  • Procedures for product flow and testing of product updated.
  • Maintain paperwork and carry out duties as assigned by the manager.
• Regulatory Agencies
  • Communicate with USDA inspector as needed.
  • Keep updated with SQF, USDA, FDA requirements regarding process, product, and procedures.
• All other necessary duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a hot, humid environment.
• Must be able to lift with both hands weights in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and budget time accordingly.
• Must be able to work with chemicals that will give off odors.
• Experience in high-paced work environment.
• High School Diploma required.
• Must be able to use Word, Excel, and Access.
• Must receive training in HACCP.
• Must understand basic safety issues and be used to implementing safety programs.
