Job summary

D’Youville Life and Wellness Community in Lowell, MA is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to support the facility's QAPI and regulatory compliance through proactive monitoring of resident care areas, medications, infection prevention, and environmental conditions.

The role conducts rounds, audits, cart inspections, and direct observations; communicates deficiencies to leadership; participates in mock surveys; and supports a compassionate, stable work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility or healthcare QA strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing home operations and CMS/state regulatory expectations preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent, structured rounds to identify regulatory deficiencies and deviations from policy and care plans.
• Perform targeted audits based on prior deficiencies and QAPI priorities.
• Audit medications and treatment carts for expired meds, labeling, dating, storage, and cleanliness.
• Observe infection prevention practices directly.
• Notify leadership of deficiencies and establish correction timeframes.
• Participate in mock surveys and survey-readiness activities.

We are seeking to hire a Quality Assurance Technician.

• $20 to $27 per hour based on skills and experience.
• Full-Time variable schedule including evenings and overnight shifts.

Quality Assurance Technician Introduction:

This role supports the facility's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) and regulatory compliance efforts through continuous, proactive monitoring of resident care areas, clinical practices, medication and treatment systems, infection prevention practices, environmental conditions, and other areas of regulatory risk.

Quality Assurance Technician Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, healthcare, quality assurance, nursing, medication management, or regulatory compliance strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of nursing home operations and CMS/state regulatory expectations preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and observational skills.

Quality Assurance Technician Job Summary:

• Conduct frequent, structured rounds throughout resident care areas to identify potential regulatory deficiencies and deviations from facility policy, standards of practice, physician orders, and established care plans.
• Perform targeted audits based on the facility's prior survey deficiencies, Plans of Correction, identified high-risk regulatory areas, internal incident trends, and QAPI priorities.
• Conduct medication and treatment cart audits, including review for expired medications or supplies, appropriate labeling and dating, storage requirements, security, and cleanliness.
• Conduct direct observations of infection prevention practices.
• Notify Senior Leadershipor responsible department leader of identified deficiencies and establish an appropriate timeframe for correction.
• Participate in mock surveys and survey-readiness activities.
