The position requires the ability to read simple engineering drawings, operate lab testing equipment, and contribute to continuous quality improvements on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience implementing quality checks and tests.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good verbal and written communication with production leadership.
• Experience operating laboratory-testing equipment.
• Experience with gage calibration is desirable.
• Experience using QMS software is desirable.
• Basic knowledge of Amarr products and processes.

Responsibilities

• Inspect incoming material and finished products.
• Assist with quality audits.
• Maintain calibration records and ensure devices are within calibration.
• Read and interpret simple engineering drawings.
• Prepare documents to record inspection results.
• Perform physical property tests (e.g., tensile, hardness).
• Support process improvements in the QA department.

# Quality Assurance Technician.Are you looking for a new challenge in Quality? Are you a stickler for detail and always thinking about the end result? Do you love problem solving, analyzing data, and creating stop gaps?Then the Quality Assurance Technician position in Lawrence, KS is for you!The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting and implementing standards and procedures that which align with expectations of our customers. The technician interacts daily with multiple levels of management and production personnel, fully supporting the Quality Strategies. The technician must perform inspections on incoming material, completed products, assist with quality audits, be comfortable working with others, and work independently in a high- volume environment.SHIFT: 6:00 am – 6:00 PM Sunday – Tuesday, every other Saturday 6:00am – 2:30pm. There is the potential of required overtime in this role.THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:* High self-motivation – ability to work independently on multiple projects* High attention to detail and organization – ability to execute with minimal supervision (occasional schedule flexibility may be necessary)* Work on a PC with a high degree of accuracy – experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)* Follow, assist with, and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures* Read and interpret simple engineering drawings to complete material and product inspections* Prepare documents and processes to record results of inspections, and accurately maintains records* Perform physical property tests (i.e., tensile, hardness)* Complete quality checks and audits on the production floor* Responsible for ensuring that all measurement devices are within calibration* Propose and implement process improvements within the quality assurance departmentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):* Manufacturing experience in a facilitator, technician, coordinator, and/or lead role (or equivalent experience)* Two years of experience implementing quality (i.e., checks and tests)* Basic knowledge of company products and processes* Good verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with production leadership* Ability to operate laboratory-testing equipment* Experience in gage calibration desired, but not required* Experience using QMS software desired, but not required* High school graduate or equivalentThe Details:Benefits include Medical/Dental/Vision, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays from day one, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k plan (with an automatic 3% company contribution, regardless of your contribution) among others.At Amarr, we welcome the unique perspectives that each individual brings to our team.
