Job summary

Amarr, a part of ASSA ABLOY, is seeking a Load Planner for our Lawrence, Kansas location. The role focuses on creating precise truck load layouts, ensuring safe, damage-free loading, and maintaining accurate shipping paperwork.

You will verify reports, coordinate with Scheduling and Door Center, and manage layout updates in a fast-paced environment. Qualified applicants exhibit excellent communication, accuracy with large data sets, and experience with Excel/Outlook.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an aptitude for learning and retaining product/policy knowledge.
• Navigator experience preferred.
• Accuracy in handling large amounts of diverse data, proven by speed/accuracy qualification tests.

Responsibilities

• Creates load layouts for trucks within loading guidelines and ensures damage-free loading.
• Verifies Load Builder Reports, Load Builder and Load Log accuracy.
• Updates layouts and shipping paperwork, including pick slips.
• Communicates with the Door Center for non-standard loading needs.
• Ensures truck weight does not exceed 41,500 lbs.

We are committed to delivering high-quality products and exceptional service to our customers.As we continue to grow, we are seeking a responsible and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Load Planner in our Lawrence, KS location.A Load Planner creates load layouts for trucks within loading guidelines, ensuring material is loaded efficiently and damage free.**ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:*** Produces a quality load layout and assures that the layout is legible.* Lays out truckloads properly, ensuring safe, accurate, and damage-free loading and unloading of material.* Revises load layouts as needed.* Completes layouts within in the timeline provided by supervision.* Provides feedback to Scheduling team when product may not fit in the trailer as scheduled.* Performs all updates (additions, deletions, changes) to layouts and Shipping paperwork, including pick slips.* Communicates with the Door Center when items need to be loaded outside standard procedures or guidelines.* Assumes other duties as assigned by supervisor.**THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES PERFORMED:*** Verifies the Load Builder Report, Load Builder and Load Log match.* Verifies that all sections are laid out on the load layout as well as the track, hardware, etc.* Assures that the load layout is as detailed as possible.* Checks the weight of truck and assures that the weight is not exceeding 41,500.* Provides feedback to Scheduling when product may not fit in the truck.* Assures that the correct product is on the layout.* Manually creates layout for ancillary items such as track, struts, picked parts, etc.* Considers the springs, hardware, and flow through items ordered, and plot on the load layout as necessary, or indicate in the special instruction field.**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Light office duties and activities.* Computer keyboard operation/telephone operation.**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):*** Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an aptitude for learning and retaining product/policy and procedural knowledge.* Navigator experience preferred.* Accuracy in the handling of large amounts of diverse data proven by the passing of a speed and accuracy qualification test.* Must be able to work well independently, under pressure, and in a fast paced environment.* Experience producing and using spreadsheets in Excel.
