Job Summary

This role supports Mennel’s tradition of excellence and food safety programs by conducting tests to ensure compliance with internal and external standards, aiming to deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service.

Primary Work Shift

Works shift as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Follow all safety and sanitation regulations, including GMPs, OSHA, HACCP, and FDA guidelines; attend required training; maintain audit-ready condition.
2. Conduct testing and report analyses for internal and external customers.
3. Perform accurate analysis of samples, troubleshoot testing procedures, and maintain calibration logs.
4. Maintain a clean work area and sanitation duties.
5. Coordinate R&D testing requests and assist in research projects.
6. Cover for the QA Manager or Lead Technician in their absence.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Assist with supervising seasonal help and training new staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in relevant fields preferred.
• Ability to pass a respirator fit test.
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of material flow and computer software including Microsoft Office.
• Effective communication skills.

• Ability to read and write basic instructions and documentation.
• Mathematical skills for measurement and calculation.
• Good judgment and adaptability to changing work demands.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Regular standing, walking, manual tasks, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work in a manufacturing environment with variable weather, noise, dust, and allergens.
