Job summary

Dawn Foods is hiring a Quality Assurance Technician I to perform daily quality activities in the plant, including GMP audits and lab testing to ensure ingredients and finished goods meet specs. You will identify issues, report them, and drive corrective actions in a fast-paced bakery environment.

The role requires reading safety and procedure manuals, basic math and computer skills, and the ability to work with others and independently.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year of experience and/or equivalent education in supporting plants and assessing quality programs.
• Science or related background or lab experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to problem solve in variable situations.
• Must be able to work well with others and independently.
• Knowledge of basic lab equipment such as water activity, viscometers, etc.
• Basic math, record keeping and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and inspects and tests the products in process or in the lab. Ensures the products meet all specifications.
• Monitors and checks the calibration of measuring equipment and the operation of metal detectors to ensure proper operation.
• Performs formula audits and process audits, documents audit results.
• Monitors adherence to all food safety and quality programs including GMPs and the Food Safety Plan.
• Performs environmental swabbing as per the schedule
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Assists in the investigation of out of compliance products

• Must be able to work in an environment where various allergens may be present in ingredients or products.
