Job summary

Nationwide Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced Laboratory Quality Supervisor within the Institute for Genomic Medicine. The role coordinates quality monitoring, regulatory compliance, and education for lab staff, and leads process improvements and training initiatives to ensure accurate testing and timely reporting.

The candidate will oversee QC/QA activities, prepare reports, and perform technical review of cases prior to sign-out to support compliant billing and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology.
• ASCP MT/MB/CG preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes compliance with CAP/CLIA, Joint Commission, and NYS testing requirements.
• Serves as General Supervisor and Lab Supervisor as defined by applicable guidelines.
• Leads group training for education of lab staff in performing quality control and quality assurance responsibilities.
• Coordinates the IGM Quality Monitoring program. Prepares reports, investigates incidents and deficiency reports, and solves problems regarding deviations from procedures.
• Tracks and reviews laboratory documentation regarding training and competency, education, and equipment maintenance; updates SOPs.
• Collaborates with supervisor and manager to coordinate process improvements and implement new workflows; leads workgroups and projects.
• Performs in-depth troubleshooting and problem-solving, and supports accurate billing and reporting through case verification.
