Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience.
• Three years' hospital laboratory experience.
• Experience in a laboratory quality or leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of laboratory leadership, ensures regulatory compliance and quality standards of all areas of the laboratory including Anatomic Pathology and Biorepository.
• Work with laboratory leadership to perform risk assessments, data analysis, compliance audits and records reviews on the effectiveness of the quality and compliance processes and controls.
• Assists with coordination of accreditation and regulatory inspections, gathering, providing information, researching, communicating, and documenting the process.
• Assists in development and implementation of policies, procedures, training, and educational programs for all areas of the laboratory.
• Leads performance improvement initiatives for the program and monitors their effectiveness.
• Serves as a document administrator in the laboratory's document control system.
• Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigation measures where appropriate.
• Oversees laboratory safety and chemical hygiene plans to maintain a safe environment for laboratory staff.
• Serves as a liaison between Laboratory and other hospital areas to coordinate all quality improvement activities for optimal efficiency and effectiveness.
