Job summary

Promise Confections in Kent, WA is seeking a Quality Specialist to monitor manufacturing and ensure products meet specifications. You will perform routine checks, document findings, and collaborate with the QA team to uphold food safety standards.

You’ll support HACCP, GMP and SQF programs, train staff, and assist with audits while maintaining sanitation and accurate records. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or certification in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field preferred.
• 1–2 years experience in quality control or food safety, ideally in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of SQF, HACCP and GMPs is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures meticulously.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the manufacturing of food products to ensure conformity to specifications.
• Conduct regular quality checks on raw materials, in-process and finished goods.
• Perform routine inspections of equipment and processes for SQF and internal procedures.
• Document inspections and test results; maintain accurate records for audits.
• Assist in identifying non-conformities and follow up on corrective actions.
• Support HACCP, GMP, and SQF programs; assist in staff training and audits.
• Maintain sanitation standards and conduct environmental and microbial sampling as needed.
• Collaborate with QA team to keep quality systems updated and effective.
