Job summary

GE Vernova in Greenville, South Carolina seeks a second-shift QA operator to perform penetrant and magnetic particle inspections and to conduct in-process and final quality checks. Level II NDT certification is required or obtainable within six months of starting. You will lift up to 40 lb, read blueprints, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Pay is hourly with a $1.00 shift premium on second shift; a second-shift schedule is in place. Relevant experience and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Level II NDT certification or must be earned within six months.
• At least 1 year of quality or manufacturing experience.
• Able to read blueprints and use micrometers/calipers.
• Able to lift up to 40 lb and wear PPE.
• Pass a background check and drug screen; US work authorization without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform liquid penetrant, magnetic particle and related nondestructive tests.
• Run in-process and final quality checks on assemblies and parts.
• Support defect resolution and rework nonconforming parts.
• Carry out workstation audits and maintain accurate records.
• Move material using forklifts and cranes after training.

The operator also performs in-process and final quality checks on parts and assemblies. Level II NDT certification is required, or must be earned within six months of starting.

What the job involves

• Perform liquid penetrant, magnetic particle and related nondestructive quality tests
• Run in-process and final quality checks on assemblies, tools, fabrications and parts with standard and special gauges
• Support defect resolution and rework nonconforming parts
• Carry out workstation audits and maintain accurate records
• Move material using forklifts and jib/gantry cranes once trained
• Contribute to problem solving and continuous improvement

What you need

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• Relevant Level II NDT certification, or completing Level II classroom work and exams within 6 months
• At least 1 year of quality or manufacturing experience
• Able to read blueprints and manual gauges such as micrometers and calipers
• Able to lift up to 40 lb and wear required PPE
• Pass a job-class assessment, background check and drug screen; US work authorization without sponsorship

Pay and conditions

• Pay: USD 29.14-30.40 per hour, as published by GE Vernova.
• Pay $29.144-$30.401 per hour
• $1.00 per hour shift premium on second shift
