Job description

Vacancy Ref: 5023

We are excited to announce that due to our continued commitment to offer the best possible service to our clients, along with our sustained strategy of company growth in a national setting, we are looking to recruit a full-time Quality Assurance Officer. The role would suit a proactive and self-motivated surveyor/analyst who has excellent technical, organisational, and people skills, and is looking to take the next step in their professional development.

Our asbestos technical staff are based throughout the UK. However, the majority of site audits will be required in the north of England, with some coverage also in the central belt of Scotland. The successful candidate will be home-based and will plan their own diary under the supervision of the existing Quality Management Team.

Ideally, the successful candidate will currently be working in a quality auditing capacity or have a recent and proven track record in this aspect of the industry.

If you are interested in a rewarding career working for a highly respected, successful, and established nationwide company with over 33 years’ trading experience, this is a great opportunity for you!

Roles and Responsibilities

The role would be varied and cover all aspects of day-to-day quality management, including:

  1. Scheduling and carrying out method-witness audits and “5% reinspections” on surveyors and analysts, and reporting your findings to the auditees, Technical and Quality Management Teams.
  2. Assisting the Quality Management Team with systems and processes to ensure client services are carried out in compliance with ISO 17020 and ISO 17025 accreditations.
Person Specification

The Successful Candidate Will Ideally Have The Following

  • A combination of BOHS Proficiency Qualifications (or equivalent) such as P401, P402, P403, P404, P405, W504, CCP (Asbestos), or Certificate of Competence in Asbestos.
  • Significant (at least 3 years) practical experience of undertaking asbestos analytical and survey works.
  • Proven quality auditing track record.
  • Objectivity, independence, honesty, and trustworthiness.
  • A strong work ethic, with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Willingness to plan your own diary within the overall commitments of the Quality Management Team.
  • Effective communication skills, including strong oral communication, patience, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety related to asbestos works.
  • Flexibility in working hours, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Strong IT literacy; experience with TEAMS is an advantage but not essential.
  • Full driving license.

Further technical training will be provided to an exceptional candidate to meet all skill requirements.

What We Can Offer You
  • Salary in the range £36,000 – £40,000 per annum, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
  • Industry-leading overtime policy and out-of-hours benefits.
  • Work-Life Balance guarantee.
  • Paid travel time.
  • Company car (for private use).
  • Company paid healthcare plan.
  • Company pension (company contributes 3% of qualifying earnings).
  • Holiday entitlement starting at 22 days, increasing with service, plus 8 bank holidays.
  • A paid day off for your birthday or nearest working day if it falls on a weekend.
  • £1,000 staff referral scheme.
  • Opportunities for further qualifications and professional development through a bespoke CPD plan.
