The Quality Control/Quality Assurance role ensures implementation and continual improvement of the company’s quality program across heavy civil and utility construction from preconstruction planning through closeout, with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in quality control/assurance within heavy civil or utility construction.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience working with testing and inspection agencies and third‑party quality personnel preferred.
• OSHA safety requirements knowledge and compliance essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of General Excavating’s Quality Control Program and quality standards.
• Coordinate with preconstruction and operations teams to identify quality requirements, risks, and testing needs.
• Review plans, permits, submittals, and other documentation to identify quality risks and establish required quality plans.
• Develop Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans with hold/verification points.
• Coordinate with testing agencies, inspectors, engineers, and owners to ensure clear understanding of quality requirements.
• Conduct field quality reviews and audits to verify compliance with plans and specifications.
• Identify and address quality issues proactively to prevent rework and schedule impacts.
• Verify material receipt, handling, storage, installation, and documentation.
