Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Description:

Hammond Group is seeking a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician to conduct tests on in-process materials and finished products using various instruments. Responsibilities for this role include preparing lab samples for shipping, assisting with equipment calibration, maintaining supplies, and documenting data in logs and reports. This role requires at least two years of laboratory experience, knowledge of Microsoft Office, and strong attention to detail, along with a team-oriented approach.

Essential Functions for QA Laboratory Technician

1. Perform quality assurance tests in the lab or on the floor for in-process materials
2. Perform quality assurance tests on completed products and product samples
3. Proficient use of instrumentation: XRD, OES, ICP, Sedigraph, BET analyzer
4. Prepare lab samples for shipping to customers
5. Assist with testing and calibrating lab equipment in preparation for specific tasks
6. Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repair as necessary
7. Keep laboratory supplies in stock by checking inventory, placing orders, and verifying receipt
8. Prepare chemical solutions as needed
9. Document information by maintaining daily logs and equipment record books
10. Resolve problems by examining and evaluating data
11. Analyze data and prepare reports for laboratory management

Required Training/Skills

1. Two or more years of experience in a laboratory setting and one year of experience lead production facility
2. Knowledge/experience with Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
3. Ability to complete tasks thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner
4. Willingness to work with others/team player
