Job Summary
Under the direction of the Quality Lab Supervisor, with guidance from the Quality Lab Tech Lead, the Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for testing, inspection, dimensional analysis, and supporting other departments within HellermannTyton. The technician must be able to perform product/process inspections in both product and lab environments while managing files and software. Overtime and weekend hours will be required. The role also involves maintaining HellermannTyton's TS16949/ISO14001/EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation.

Essential Functions:

• Understand customer expectations related to product quality
• Support a team atmosphere and mentor operators regarding product quality
• Perform 1st Piece and in-process inspections
• Conduct specific tests such as tensile and moisture analysis
• Verify material certifications and approve raw materials
• Enter and edit SPC data, file QA records and samples
• Use incoming color samples to verify colorant
• Handle non-conforming materials and perform dimensional layouts
• Use SPC software and record all inspection data
• Weigh parts and utilize control plans
• Perform PPAP and PPC testing
• Support maintaining certifications by adhering to policies and documentation

Other Functions:

• Serve as a go-to person for production regarding quality
• Determine 'Clean Point' for non-conformances
• Support LEAN initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Key Competencies:

• Ability to read blueprints and use basic measuring tools
• Basic math skills and effective communication
• Basic computer skills; knowledge of injection molding is a plus
