Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Quality Lab Supervisor and guidance from the Quality Lab Tech Lead, the Quality Assurance Lab Technician is responsible for testing, inspection, dimensional analysis, and supporting other departments within HellermannTyton. The technician must be capable of conducting product/process inspections in both production and lab environments, managing files and software. Overtime and some weekend hours are required. The role also involves maintaining HellermannTyton's TS16949/ISO14001/EMS certifications by adhering to corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation.

Essential Functions:

• Understand customer expectations related to product quality
• Support a team-oriented environment
• Mentor operators regarding product quality
• Perform 1st Piece Inspection and in-process inspection
• Conduct specific tests such as tensile and moisture analysis
• Verify raw materials and material certifications
• Enter and maintain SPC data
• File QA records and samples
• Verify colorant in receiving using color samples
• Isolate and document non-conforming materials
• Perform dimensional layouts referencing drawings
• Utilize SPC software and record test data
• Weigh parts and use control plans
• Participate in PPAP and PPC testing
• Support certification maintenance through adherence to policies and documentation

Other Functions

• Serve as a point of contact for production regarding quality
• Determine 'Clean Point' for non-conformance issues
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Read blueprints and use basic measuring tools
• Apply basic math skills and communicate effectively
• Basic computer skills are a plus; knowledge of injection molding is advantageous

Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience)

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: 1 year of lab experience
• Strong math and communication skills
• Good vision; calibration tools knowledge preferred
• Blueprint reading skills preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work overtime including weekends
• Must wear PPE in manufacturing areas as required
