We are looking for an energetic QA Technician to come join our team in Hogansville, Georgia. The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician is responsible for maintaining Quality Assurance production policies and programs, ensuring conformity of the raw materials, and finished goods to established quality and specification standards. Will also ensure that proper testing procedures are in place and are being properly utilized, as well as our compliance to production specifications. In addition, this position will also be responsible for the implementation of Food Safety and Quality Standards and overseeing the batching process.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing periodic status reports of activity.
  • Work with the technical department to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Control the quality assurance and training functions of the QA department.
  • Orchestrate testing of finished products to ensure quality and food safety requirements are met.
  • Ensure that proper tests and procedures are applied on all finished products.
  • Identify equipment needed for all quality assurance testing.
  • Report results of quality tests performed.
  • Manage all non-conforming products and closing batches for Hogansville.
  • Assist production and warehouse personnel with daily issues or problems.
  • Complete daily and weekly reports to communicate status of production and process controls.
  • Lead in the resolution of internal and customer product complaints.
  • Ensure timely testing and response of quality assurance.
  • Conduct investigations for all customer complaints and communicate findings.
  • Assist in transitioning new products into production.
  • Be an active member of Food Safety Committee.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies inventory and control use of retained product.
  • Work closely with production and batching to make sure formulas are
  • Retain documentation for traceability.
  • Remain abreast of all policies and procedures for quality and food safety.
  • Develop and utilize appropriate quality inspections as well as participate in food safety inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Education Requirements

  • High School diploma or B.S. degree in food science or related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in a lab environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.Willingness and flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines.
