Job summary

Textron Aviation internship offers hands-on involvement in quality engineering, including maintaining the QMS, conducting audits, and improving production processes. You’ll work on core TRU parts testing, and collaborate with teams to implement corrective actions.

Eligibility requires pursuing a bachelor’s degree with interest in manufacturing and quality assurance. The program runs 10 weeks over the summer with on-site work and a prepaid stipend.

Qualifications

• Proficient in computer technology and systems operations
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work efficiently in a team environment
• Above average mathematical arithmetic skills

Responsibilities

• Help maintain TRU QMS including QMS SharePoint site, calibration, internal quality audits, and ISO audit finding/responses
• Assist in performing receiving inspection and non-conformity reporting (NCR)
• Assist in testing, validation, and programming of core TRU parts (control system parts, CanBus, PCB etc.)
• Improve product quality by making recommendations for change
• Work with relevant teams and departments to improve products
• Help ensure products adhere to company and industry quality standards
• Brainstorm ideas to create solutions for identified problems both internally with team and with other functions
• Develop meaningful quality metrics in addition to FPY
• Help in implementation of a working system to ensure conformity and accuracy in the production process
