Job summary

MMI Industrial & Steel, based in El Centro, CA, is hiring a Quality Control Inspector for our on-site facility. The role focuses on inspections to ensure components meet customer specifications and internal standards, with emphasis on AWS D1.1 and D1.8 compliance.

The successful candidate will perform both pre-fabrication and post-fabrication inspections, document findings, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. A high school diploma is required; CWI is desirable but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; further education or certification in quality control preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of AWS D1.1 and D1.8 codes and proficient in blueprint reading.
• Proven experience with inspection tools and quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of fabricated steel components to ensure precision and compliance with blueprints.
• Verify that all fabrications meet AWS D1.1 and D1.8 standards and project-specific requirements.
• Document and report non-conformities and communicate issues to supervisors and production teams.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes and reduce defects.
• Maintain detailed records of quality inspections and prepare reports on findings and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with project managers to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
