Job summary

S&S Activewear in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a Quality Inspector to focus on incoming products and outgoing orders. This role supports the Facility Supervisor and collaborates with Production and Shipping to ensure timely, accurate inspections.

The position requires a High School Diploma, leadership potential, and strong clerical and communication skills. You will use databases and reports to drive improvements and may participate in cross-training.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma.
• Some experience in quality/inspections preferred.
• Proven leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform all duties of a Quality Inspector.
• With QA Manager guidance, lead the Quality Assurance Team.
• Keep attendance records, manage and organize schedule and rotating assignments.
• Run, analyze and follow through daily and weekly reports (Credits, Mega Order, Redo, Final Inspection, Actual Proofs, Scrap reports).
• Make critical decisions with regards to imprint quality on live orders.
• Fill out Corrective Action Forms and coordinate with appropriate personnel.
• Maintain QA databases (Incoming Inspection, Final Inspection Data, Scrap Report).
• Work with Production Supervisors and Shipping to ensure timely inspections.
• All other tasks assigned.

About the Role

Focus on Quality Assurance for both incoming products and outgoing orders. This person will also be responsible for assisting in other functions as requested by the Facility Supervisor (i.e., shipping duties). The individual needs to be flexible to changing needs of our growing company. Cross training, computer skills and time management skills are essential.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Must be able to perform ALL the duties and responsibilities of a Quality Inspector.
• With the QA Manager’ guidance, lead the Quality Assurance Team.
• Keep attendance records, manage and organize schedule and rotating assignments.
• Run, analyze and follow through daily and weekly reports. Such as but not limited to Credits, Mega Order, Redo, Final Inspection, Actual Proofs, Scrap reports.
• Be able to make critical decisions with regards to imprint quality on live orders.
• Fill out Corrective Action Forms and address them accordingly with appropriate personnel.
• Maintain databases for QA up to date, such as but not limited to Incoming Inspection Database, Final Inspection Data, Scrap Report up to date.
• Work directly with all Production Supervisors to make sure all issues are addressed and/or rectified properly. Work directly with Shipping Department to make sure work is flowing and orders are final inspected in a timely manner.
• All other tasks assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of High School Diploma
• Some experience in quality/inspections preferred
• Proven leadership skills

SKILLS:

• Clerical and administrative experience (i.e., typing, filing, etc.) with knowledge of Windows-based software systems preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to ensure clarity
• Highly dependable, organized and detail oriented
• Self-starter who takes direction well but also able to work independently initiating projects and ideas
• Team player
• Solid time management and organizational skills to efficiently complete assigned tasks
• Ability to compile large amounts of data and make recommendations
• Ability to read and interpret job orders. Ability to listen effectively. Ability to effectively convey ideas and information to others
• Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a range of practical problem.
• Ability to count accurately.
