Job summary

S&S Activewear is seeking a Shipping Department Supervisor to support the Shipping and Operations Managers. You will guide and coach the team, manage end-of-day duties, and ensure adherence to policies and SOPs.

The role focuses on fostering a productive, safe, and compliant shipping operation. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years supervisory experience in a fast-paced warehouse, strong communication, and solid computer skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience leading a shipping/warehouse team is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and coaching abilities are essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Windows suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to communicate clearly and develop team members to meet goals.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily attendance and performance reports for the team.
• Lead team kickoff meetings and monitor shipping orders.
• Oversee daily workflow to ensure on-time shipments and SOP compliance.
• Coach and develop employees; set goals and action plans.
• Investigate accidents and participate in safety and process improvements.
• Operate and supervise warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Participate in special projects related to shipping processes.

About the Role

S&S Activewear is seeking a Shipping Department Supervisor to provide support to the Shipping Department Manager and Operations Manager. They will also Provide direct interaction with all team members involved in shipping orders, provide assistance and guidance to employees on issues related to the shipping department. Managing the end of the day cleaning duties. Shipping Supervisor is responsible for coaching employees. Good coaching involves working with employees to establish suitable goals, action plans and time lines. The supervisor delegates and also provides ongoing guidance and support to the employee as they complete their action plans. Responsible to ensure that employees follow the organization’s policies and procedures. Shipping Supervisor and all S&S Activewear employees must adhere to the guidelines presented in the S&S Activewear Employee Handbook.

Salaried (based on experience)

Monday - Friday (2pm-11:30pm) full-time, exempt

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Prepare daily attendance and performance employees’ report.
• Conduct team kick off meetings
• Monitor orders screen daily.
• Monitoring employees breaks.Responsible for accident investigation reports.
• Trouble Shoot and resolve issues related to the shipping process.
• Ability to think on feet and make operational decisions in order to achieve shipping cut-offs.
• Perform annual performance evaluations.
• Provide leadership to all department employees.
• Conduct employee kick off meetings.
• Verify and enforce compliance of the SOP’s
• Provide involvement in the planning and execution of special projects related to the Shipping process
• Prepare and host kick off meetings
• Monitor work flow and adjust practices as required to ensure quality and timely shipment of orders.
• Act professionally and remain focused while working

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Supervisor experience of 2 years in a team-oriented workplace, preferred.

• Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Must be able to wear proper safety equipment if required (examples include safety toe shoes, bump caps and safety vest). Note: PPE is company-provided with a $100 stipend on safety-toe shoes after 90 days of employment if required for your specific role - not all roles require specific PPE. Please check with your HR/Training team for details on if your role requires specific PPE.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

• The job will be performed entirely in the warehouse where conditions can range from warm to cool.
• The job will be performed around warehouse machines and equipment with a moderate level of noise.
