Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer for our High Point, NC facility. The role drives Right First Time improvements, analyzes batch data, handles CAPA, and ensures ISO 9001 alignment while collaborating with Production, R&D, and Supply Chain.

You will lead root cause analyses, monitor SPC Cp/Cpk, and coach operators on quality standards, with a compensation range and benefits described in the posting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or related field.
• 2+ years of quality assurance experience in manufacturing; coatings, chemicals or process industries preferred.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001; IATF 16949 a plus.
• Proficiency in 8D, CAPA, FMEA and 5-Why problem solving.
• Strong skills in SPC and statistical analysis.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
• Strong communication, project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Right First Time (RFT) improvement projects to increase the share of batches that meet specification without adjustment.
• Drive hits-per-batch reduction by analyzing batch adjustment data and eliminating root causes of corrections.
• Lead internal defect reduction projects, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Prioritize and manage a portfolio of quality projects aligned to site and network goals.
• Manage customer complaints, audits and corrective action requests using 8D and CAPA methodologies.
• Support and maintain the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 requirements.
• Manage disposition of non-conforming material (hold, rework, release).
• Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Cp/Cpk analyses to monitor and improve processes.
• Lead root cause analysis using 5-Why, Ishikawa (Fishbone) and FMEA.
• Analyze batch and trend data to identify improvement opportunities and track results.
• Partner with Production, R&D and Supply Chain to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma and Kaizen methods to drive continuous improvement.
• Train and coach operators on quality standards and procedures.
• Support audit readiness for customer, registrar and internal audits.
• Support supplier quality management and incoming material inspection.
• Issue and follow up on supplier corrective actions.
• Support raw material qualification and change management.
