Aerotek in Kent, WA is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to perform in-process and final inspections of mechanical assemblies and components. You will verify dimensional accuracy with precision instruments and document non-conformances.
You will support production and logistics, develop inspection methods, and participate in internal and external audits. This onsite role emphasizes reliability and quality control in a manufacturing environment.
As a Quality Assurance Inspector, you will perform in-process and final inspections of mechanical assemblies and components, ensuring they meet engineering drawings, specifications, and quality control plans. You will support the parts shipping and production teams by utilizing precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and conformance. Your role includes conducting visual inspections for defects, identifying and documenting non-conforming materials or assemblies, and collaborating with production or logistics personnel to address quality issues.
Perform in-process and final inspections of mechanical assemblies and components.
Utilize precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
Conduct visual inspections for defects like scratches, dents, and incorrect assembly.
Identify and document non-conforming materials or assemblies, and initiate non-conformance reports (NCRs).
Collaborate with production or logistics personnel to address quality issues and provide guidance.
Assist in the development and improvement of quality control procedures and inspection methods.
Participate in internal audits and support external audits as required.
Troubleshoot and maintain production test fixtures/equipment.
Help troubleshoot failed products on production lines to determine the cause.
Inspect incoming and outgoing products following inspection plans.
Provide support to the production line for diagnosis of part non-conformances.
Evaluate reports of non-conforming material against drawings and specifications.
Perform further analysis and inspections to identify the root cause of production issues.
Direct inventory inspections and containment activities when non-conformances are identified.
Provide light IT and engineering support with the assistance of offsite staff.
Notify engineering of possible product process and documentation improvements.
Perform light rework on non-conforming parts to return them to usable status.
Experience in quality inspection and use of measuring instruments.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong documentation skills and ability to identify non-conforming materials.
Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
Experience in conducting internal audits and supporting external audits.
Ability to collaborate effectively with production and logistics personnel.
Familiarity with quality control procedures and inspection methods.
Basic IT and engineering support skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
