Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) in Worcester, MA is seeking a Quality Assistant II to join our Quality Assurance team. You will perform data validation, audits, and performance reporting to support compliance, accuracy, and operational integrity across BHN programs.

You will collaborate with Information Systems and data teams, assist with accreditation reviews (CARF, DPH, MassHealth), and help lead quality improvement initiatives while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Three years of customer-service experience and three years in data management in healthcare or insurance.
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience supporting healthcare audits, accreditation, quality improvement, or performance reporting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead data-validation and integrity checks across programs to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Analyze program data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IS and data teams to strengthen data pipelines and dashboards.
  • Collect and organize documentation for audits and accreditation reviews (CARF, DPH, MassHealth).
  • Conduct file reviews and compliance audits; communicate findings clearly to partners.
  • Monitor corrective-action plans and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Support performance-incentive reports tied to contracts and grants.
  • Co-lead quality-improvement initiatives with metrics and timelines.
  • Draft and revise SOPs, workflows, and training materials with leadership.
  • Support cross-functional teams and coordinate feedback and action items.
  • Design surveys and dashboards; present findings to leadership.

What You Will Do
  • Lead data-validation and integrity checks across multiple programs and help ensure reporting is accurate, reliable, and complete.
  • Analyze program and performance data to identify trends, potential root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Information Systems and data teams to strengthen data pipelines, reporting processes, and dashboard accuracy.
  • Collect and organize documentation for audits and accreditation reviews, including CARF, DPH, and MassHealth requirements.
  • Conduct file reviews and compliance audits with minimal supervision and communicate findings clearly to program partners.
  • Monitor corrective-action plans, track required documentation, and help ensure timely resolution of identified issues.
  • Run and review reports that track performance incentives associated with contracts, grants, and value-based arrangements.
  • Partner with program leadership to strengthen audit readiness, documentation standards, and ongoing compliance.
  • Co-lead quality-improvement initiatives by defining metrics, tracking outcomes, facilitating meetings, and managing project timelines.
  • Draft and revise standard operating procedures, workflows, and training materials in collaboration with program leadership.
  • Support cross-functional performance-improvement teams and coordinate program feedback, action items, and follow-through.
  • Design and analyze satisfaction surveys, equity assessments, and performance dashboards, and present findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and organizational performance reviews while mentoring Quality Assistant I staff and supporting their onboarding and development.
Who You Are
  • High School Diploma or GED required; a Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • At least three years of customer-service experience and three years of experience in data management within healthcare or insurance.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience supporting healthcare audits, accreditation, compliance, quality improvement, or performance reporting strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to validate data, recognize trends, maintain accuracy, and communicate findings.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings and present information to program teams and leadership.
  • Excellent organization and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and refocus after interruptions.
  • Collaborative, dependable, and receptive to feedback, with the ability to learn new systems and apply new skills in a changing environment.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Worcester and complete limited regional travel, including some travel within Central Massachusetts and occasional travel to Western Massachusetts; frequent travel is not required.
